Just got to George English Park. Lots of liquid in the street, doesn’t smell good. Workers are here and road is blocked off.

City has confirmed the sewage main break. It’s the 7th since December. Right now vac trucks are sucking up the sewage water on Bay View Drive. Then, city spokesperson says they can start digging to see extent of break.

It’s the same pipe that runs the length of most of the city, and the same one that broke in Rio Vista in December. This is the mid to north section of the pipe. It’s 42-inches here. $65 million plan to replace it is already underway says.

Part of the sewage is moving through storm water drains into the Middle River, while other flow backs up on to Bay View Drive, across the street from part of the Galleria Mall. City will issue a no recreation advisory for this part of George English Park later.
