Crews continue to clean up after Debby more than 2 weeks after it made landfall in Florida. Debby left a trail of debris, floods and more.

Florida takes a break from the oppressive heat that has been taking over this summer. A rare cold front will also provide mostly stable conditions throughout the weekend.

Ernesto will continue to gain strength as it moves again from the Caribbean and remains far away from Florida, but swells and surf will be rough and high late this week and through the weekend.

As Floridians, especially across North Florida, clean up after Hurricane Debby dragged through the area, heat returns and there are still chances for a hyperactive hurricane season. Colorado State University released an update to their forecast and it calls for up to 23 named storms.

The storm has brought heavy rain to Florida, Georgia and North and South Carolina since coming ashore on the Gulf Coast of Florida early Monday. However, moisture from Debby strengthened another storm system, causing strong thunderstorms across the Great Lakes and eastward Tuesday evening.

UPDATED: The storm made landfall Monday morning near Steinhatchee, a community of less than 1,000 residents in the Big Bend area of Florida's Gulf Coast, as Category 1 storm with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph.
