Theaters in South Florida, and across the United States, Canada, and Europe, are of George Orwell's dystopian classic on Tuesday, Apr. 4. The date was chosen because it's the day Orwell’s protagonist, Winston Smith, begins his fight against "Big Brother" by keeping a forbidden diary.
The film is among several being screened in the Naples area in April stressing the need for vigilance against government overreach, an informed citizenry, and individual freedom.

Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. on Gulf Coast Live, Naples-based filmmaker K.C. Schulberg from joins the show to talk about the local screenings of 1984 and related films in the month of April.
David Goldstein is also joining the program to discuss the Q&A he'll be hosting on Apr. 4 after the screening.
